Why Did We Do So Wrong?

One thing I would like to do is open this up for debate, but I'm not sure how to do it on here. One thing I can say is that I get a chance to say my peace.
I have a few BG&C's.. I'm retired Navy and that stands for Bitches, Gripes and Complaints. Ya'll ready?
First... I'm really tired of our representation in Washington, DC. I'm not Obama bashing.. Actually, far from it. But I'm getting tired of our representatives, you know, the spokesperson of the people, doing their own thing. The ones we voted in to represent us. The ones that ain't doing squat, to remember us and that we put them in their position.
Second... Palin... Here's the way I see it. She's down home and a lot of people are scared by that. Not only the ones in office, but the one's doing dishes right now. So what if she wrote a couple of words on her hand..... At least she didn't have a speechwriter put it on a teleprompter!
Third... That kinda boils it down. Our elected has forgotten us, trying to make us better by their own standards, and we forget... the ones that put them there.

Ok... just wanted to do my state of view... but I'll be back soon.

Getting it off my mind......

I worte in an earlier blog that sometimes you sit down and start to write and all of a sudden you mind goes blank. This time it's the computer's fault. I had a couple of paragraphs written and all of a sudden the computer locked up. Oh well, such is life.

Anyway, I meant to talk about media bias. I have to admit that the way I see media coverage of the White House is that it has it's head so far up President Obama's butt it's funny. When does the media infatuation end and reality step in.

I didn't vote for the man, but I don't wish him ill. To be honest, I hope he does well.

You probably think that funny coming from a Republican, but I do. The country needs it. We do need change, but I think we're getting funny money. I also think that we're being mislead by the typical "Hey, vote for me" mentality. We need to wake up and look around us.

I consider myself lucky. I live in a small town, but I have a comfortable job. I wish we all did. There's a need for work in this country. To me, we've forgot our basics. We have let ourselves be controlled by greed. That greed is based on the almighty dollar. Not by our nations foundation.

A quick history of us. Our nation was built by outcasts. People that didn't fit into the Queen's master plan, prisoners to devise their own means. We did that. Our nation grew and lived, and learned. We taught ourselves how to become the land of the free.

Now, we have become the land of the free trade. We are outsourcing ourselves to extinction and we need to make a change. To make a quote, "A change we can believe in."

As a nation, we need to let our voices be heard and talk to our political appointees. It may be a Democrat or Republican.. Let our voice be heard... And, mean it.

Really Don't Have A Name For This One...

I'm probably like a lot of people when they sit down and try to put something in their blog. I'm ready to scream at the world, but when that window opens and we have the chance to type, we draw a blank. Well, that's pretty much what happened to me tonight.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. Mine has been good so far, been working around the house today. It's Saturday here and we finally got a break form the leftovers from Hurricane Ida. Ida was my grandmothers name.

I live near Washington DC and all we got was rain. Lots of rain. As a result of it, I had to have the septic tank drained, but I'm sure that's the last thing you want to hear me talk about. So, to quote Forest Gump, "That's all I'm saying about that."

Did any of you catch the NASCAR Nationwide Series race today? It's the next to last race and Carl Edwards was the winner. No backflip though, he still is tending to a broken ankle. Kyle Busch didn't clinch the championship, but all he has to do is start the race in Homestead and he's the champion. He finished tenth today and declined to interview and the showed him walking to his trailor. No wonder you hear the boo's when his name is announced. He turns his back to his fans.

Anywho, I'm going to take on some TV and relax a while. Ya'll have a wonderful weekend and I'll talk with you soon.

Facebook, Twitter users beware: Crooks are a mouse click away

Interesting article on CNN "Tech" section. I recommend ya'll reading it. All I can say on this note is be careful. Don't give up information. One part of the article speaks of being directed to a fake website that uses phishing tactics. Whenever you link to another site, pay attention to the URL address and make sure it's legitimate before you go further. People are seriously getting ripped off and we need to take action to stop it. The FBI website, www.fbi.gov, has a way of reporting it. People, I highly recommend that you report it if you feel that you've been screwed. Also, you need to warn your friends and followers on twitter and facebook if you think you've been taken.

Ya'll take care... We'll talk soon..

Ever Read the Comments on CNN?

I like to look at the CNN website "Political Ticker" from time to time. Not that much for the stories, but for what people say in their words of wisdom. It's really interesting most of the time. I definitely would not put it on the Republican "must read" list, but interesting to say the least.

I've come to a couple of conclusions on what people have to say on there. One is that everything is Bush's fault. Two, if it's not, it should be.

Sometimes all you can do is laugh. One of the stories I noticed tonight was "Romney hammers Obama on Iran negotiations." In a nutshell, Mitt Romney wants President Obama to stop talks with Iran. He made a statement that Iran is the biggest threat since the fall of the Soviet Union and before that, Nazi Germany. Now, here's the fun part. This is what people had to say:

"Funny he had no issues with Bush and Iraq. Of course politics has nothing to do with it."
[Here we go with Bush]

"Yea.... This is an example of why Obama might have won the Noble(sic) Peace Prize!
Just sayin(sic)"
[What did Obama win the Nobel Peace Prize for anyway?]

"WAR IS NOT PRO-LIFE ya HYPOCRIT(sic)
Romney is a CHRISTIAN RIGHT-WING TERRORIST"
[That one lost me]

Last, but not least.....

"Geez i am sick of comparing every tin pot dicator(sic) to Nazi Geramy(sic).
This is the pproach(sic) that got us a useless war in Iran. China and the Solviets(sic) will oppose any milarty(sic) option and in case this bozo does not know it China has a practical veto on such a decision.
Does he want a third front we need to fight on.
So what is your plan Romney? Uh don't have one? Uh start another war? oh, do nothing?
Just another just say no GOPer"
[We're at war with Iran? Also, I took ten points off for spelling!]

The stuff you read is just from one story. If you want a dose of "daily intelligence", then read the "Political Ticker" at CNN and get the words of wisdom.

Oh yeah, I read what some of you said about Meghan McCain when CNN felt the political newsworthiness of talking about her picture on twitter. To say the least, most of it was in bad taste and meant nothing more than to insult, embarrass, humiliate, and ... damn, I wish I'd seen the picture. Anyhow, the way I see it. People that live in grass houses shouldn't store thrones. Or words to that effect.

Have a wonderful night and we'll talk later.....

We Are Just Getting Started...

Just wanted to take a moment to welcome you to my new blog. I'll be talking about a mirade of different subjects in time and welcome your comments. I want this blog to, not only express my views, but those of the readers. I welcome your point of view and look forward to reading the feedback that you can provide.

I know that from time to time our points of view may not agree. That's what this place is all about. We can discuss those differences and hopefully come to something mutual.

Well, I guess that's it for now. I'm currently in Australia and leave for home tomorrow morning. I'll give you a rundown of the trip and if you're planning on coming to Melbourne or Brisbane in the near future I may be able to give you some insight into what to expect. Take care and we'll talk soon.
